• To continue to grow as a loving, open Christian Community, filled with the Holy Spirit.
COMMUNION BEFORE CONFIRMATION - It is now the policy of this parish to admit baptised children to communion. If your child wishes to receive communion, please see The Revd David Power, who is glad to explain the process of preparation and admission which is to be carried out before the child receives. Please note that baptised but unconfirmed adults are also welcome to receive, but if they wish to be regular communicants they will be encouraged to be confirmed. Please see our Parish Policy which is displayed on the notice board in both churches.

SECOND SUNDAY IN THE MONTH EVENING WORSHIP
As most of you will have seen, the P.C.C. decided to change the evening worship Sunday to the second in the month in the hope that it might be available to more people. These evenings are really interesting and it is amazing the variety of subjects that we have covered this last year. We now start a new year so I am inviting anybody who would like to lead one of these evenings to let me know which month you would like to do. We don't have any in August or December.
It's really good for two people to work together; so why not find a friend and pair up. If you are an "Old hand" why not choose a friend who is not quite so confident - although there is nothing to be afraid of really!
Please let me know A.S.A.P please as I would like this to be sorted out before I go away in September. Many thanks Beulah.
ST. AIDAN’S PATRONAL FESTIVAL
This will be held at 9.30am on Sunday 29th August and everyone is welcome to come and celebrate together. This is a special service with a special cake! It isn't very far away so get together to share transport. There will still be a Communion service at St. Cuthbert’s at 8am but there will be no 10am service that day.
RECEPTIONIST
The Children's Centre are providing a receptionist part-time from 16th August and it would be next for us to provide someone for the afternoons. We would like volunteers to do a shift from 1-4pm, you don't have to volunteer for every day, just one day a week would be fine. Duties include answering the telephone, taking messages and greeting and dealing with general enquiries.
Please either come into the Centre and speak to Heather, telephone her on 07920 484591 or tell Beulah you are interested and she will get Heather to contact you.
NOTES AND NEWS
I will be away on holiday from Tuesday 17th August until Sunday 5th September so would be grateful if you could email any urgent items to suzanne.davis1@tesco.net or telephone 023 92697689 or 07821626747. Many thanks. Cathy Phillips.
